UCHI (home)

Uchi (Japanese for "home") emerged from a deep desire to create a portrait of home—not as a fixed place, but as a collection of feelings, imperfections, colours, seasons, light, and food. This body of work explores the quiet residue of life that accumulates in the spaces we inhabit, offering glimpses into the multiple homes that have shaped me.

My eye is often drawn to the overlooked: a weed pushing through pavement, the shimmer of pegs on a drying rack caught in late afternoon light. Through capturing these small details, I trace the invisible presence of those who once moved through these spaces. Each image becomes a fragment—an echo—of homes that are both intimately known and partially remembered.
